Tests for Animal Transport and Quarantine

When transporting live animals internationally (including companion animals, birds, horses and livestock), most countries require that they be tested to confirm freedom from certain diseases before they are allowed entry.

ACDP offers diagnostic quarantine testing to facilitate the international transport of live animals, including companion animals, birds and horses.

ACDP’s diagnostic testing is accredited for:

  • Import and export of animals to and from Australia, and
  • Transport of animals between other nations

Prior to submitting samples for quarantine testing, it is important that you check with the importing country as to which tests are required. For movements into and out of Australia, please consult the Department of Agriculture, Water and the Environment.
